History
The Shellaberger Tennis Center originated 30 years ago when Rosemarie Shellaberger donated money to the old College of Santa Fe to build seven outdoor courts.  In 2001 Rosemarie Shellaberger’s estate provided another $4 million to build the indoor tennis center.  In 2009,the College of Santa Fe went through difficult times and was dissolved, but the tennis center was kept open and operated by a management team made up of the current staff and members of the club. In July of 2011 the club was purchased by Eric Rose and Sam Hitman. Eric and Sam have both been in the tennis business professionally for over 20 years. In addition to now running Shellaberger they operate two successful clubs in Denver. They are looking forward to sharing their love for the game and their philosophy of providing tennis programs for everyone!

The Rosemarie Shellaberger Tennis Center is located adjacent to Santa Fe University of Design and Art, New Mexico. The center opened in November of 2002 and was awarded the U.S.T.A Outstanding Tennis Facility Award in 2003. With six indoor Rebound Ace courts, a stadium court (also Rebound Ace), and seven outdoor courts, the Rosemarie Shellaberger Tennis Center is Santa Fe's premier tennis facility.

The climate-controlled indoor courts are comfortable to play on year-round on the cushioned Rebound Ace surface. Above the courts is a state-of-the-art lighting system. Spectators can enjoy the matches with comfortable bleachers that seat 400 on each side of the center.

The Gladys Heldman Stadium Court is also cushioned with the Rebound Ace surface and seats 1,000 people in a beautiful outdoor setting. Night play is popular in the cool summer evenings on our four lighted outdoor hard courts and the stadium court. Visitors are welcome to play a match, take a lesson from one of our professionals, or shop in the fully stocked pro shop. Our friendly staff will even try to find a match for you! Call the service desk at (505) 473-6144(505) 473-6144 or e-mail us for more information. There are always programs and events happening, and we have equipment you can borrow if you forget your own—or if you want to try some of the latest technologies. The center is open 7 days a week (hours may vary with the seasons) and 364 days a year.
